Hes going into the military or whatever. Okay, so I haven't had the balls to tell him I like him yet... I'm getting there!

I'd tell him before he goes off because you never know who he'll meet or what he'll come back as even if it is just training. Just tell him and if things go badly it's not like you'll have to see him everyday and have to face the truth you know. I'd just do it.
